The department as the hub of the organization

In Piping, you want to design a system that is as cost-effective as possible, easily accessible, and simple to operate and maintain. But that’s not all; the system must, of course, also comply with all legal requirements, standards, and regulations. At Vicoma, we’re aware of all these challenges; our Piping department works closely with specialists from other disciplines, acting as the central hub. This allows us to incorporate all necessary physical spaces—such as CSA, E&I cabinets, cable trays, and ducting—into the designs after thorough verification.

Steps in a Piping Project

We’ll work with you to define the scope, and if you’d like, we’ll schedule a site visit. We take a pragmatic approach, work closely with you as the client, and our specialists respond quickly. Throughout the entire project, we’ll coordinate the work with all relevant internal departments and external parties.

For us, a piping project generally consists of the following steps:

• Once the proposal has been approved, we will organize a kickoff meeting with all stakeholders.
• Together with your own employees or our colleagues at Process, we will modify the P&IDs for any demolition and new construction work.
• We incorporate existing conditions into the design, either manually or through 3D scanning.
• We design new facilities and, if necessary, outline the demolition of (parts of) the facility.
• We will submit a 3D model of the installation for review and put together packages for the implementation.
