About the Project
Biesheuvel Techniek, now part of Rubix, is a leading player in the MRO market. MRO stands for Maintenance, Repair & Operations.
With over 30 locations and 350 employees, the company offers an extensive selection of more than 640,000 products. Biesheuvel Techniek specializes in distribution and “Value-Added Logistics (VAL).” Orders are processed and shipped daily, within 24 hours, from the central distribution center or from local branches that hold inventory.
Vicoma’s Role
We designed a modern and future-proof central distribution center to support the wide range of products. In addition to the desired storage capacity, the complex offers room for further growth thanks to the presence of an additional warehouse unit.
The complex is not intended solely for storage. Thanks to the use of various mezzanine floors, it also offers more than enough space for VAL activities, an embroidery studio, and offices. Other notable features include the storage area for special products (“specials”) and the presence of PGS safes for storing hazardous substances.
Result
A distribution center that offers great flexibility in layout and expansion. Thanks to the chosen rack dimensions, the warehouses are ideally suited for both wide and narrow aisles. The warehouses have concrete floors with a maximum load capacity of 5,000 kg/m² and a point load of 9,000 kg. The building is equipped with a certified ESFR sprinkler system. Under this system, goods can be stored at a maximum height of up to 12.2 m.
