About the Project
A new boiler house at their production site in Leeuwarden. FrieslandCampina wanted to carry out this project on a Design & Build basis—not only the building, but also the (electric) boilers, including equipment and utilities. They enlisted Getec to take the lead.
Vicoma’s Role
Getec asked us to design and engineer the building. We oversaw the entire construction process and sized the utilities.
We have enjoyed working with Vicoma for many years. Thanks to their expertise and proximity, Vicoma adds significant value as an engineering partner at our RFC plant in Veghel.
Result
A building that fits like a glove. Working closely with Getec and FrieslandCampina, we designed a building that perfectly accommodates the boilers and associated facilities. The dimensions, materials, and finishes ensure that the building is optimally functional.
In terms of appearance, we opted for a seamless integration with the other buildings recently completed on the site. As architects, we always strive for the best possible result in this regard. We explore the options and often recommend opting for unity. Harmony with the surroundings: “Less is more!”
