Stedin: Slikkerveer Switching Station

About the Project

Integrating a new switching station near existing buildings and on sloping terrain requires a careful approach. Stedin entrusted this task to us with confidence.

Vicoma’s Role

Together with Stedin and the mechanical and electrical engineering consultant, we developed a design for the building, including the mechanical and electrical systems. We carefully integrated the building into the site, paying particular attention to the condition and operational reliability of the station. We were responsible for coordinating the engineering, as well as construction supervision and oversight. After the new building was completed, part of the existing structure was demolished in accordance with our demolition specifications.

Result

A modern, low-maintenance 13 kV switching station. A contemporary replacement for the existing 12.5 kV installation and the outdated building. Who says a switching station can’t be beautiful? We proved otherwise. And not for the first time!
