Lugus Student Association Visits Vicoma in Groningen

On Tuesday, June 28, students from the TBV Lugus student association visited our Groningen location. This gave the students an informal introduction to the work our engineers do every day. Through various assignments, they were able to experience what it’s like in practice to work at an engineering firm like Vicoma.

The afternoon began with a group lunch. After lunch, Branch Manager Rutger Aalders gave a company presentation and shared more about who Vicoma is and what we do. Next, Henk-Jan van der Vaart, Project Manager, explained to the students the assignment that NextGen had devised for them.

After the explanation, they split into different groups and got to work on the assignment. The problem they were presented with was a realistic real-world challenge. There was plenty of room for creativity and new ideas. These ideas were then presented to the other project groups and Vicoma colleagues. After all that hard work, we couldn’t let the afternoon end without a drink, of course, so we wrapped it up with some snacks and drinks.
