About the Project
In Maasdam, fresh dairy products such as milk, yogurt, and desserts are produced for the Dutch market. To ensure they stay fresh and reach you, Vicoma designed a refrigerated distribution center.
We located the new distribution center right next to the production facility. FrieslandCampina provided its “Route 2020” strategy as a starting point.
The goal of this strategy: sustainable growth and improved efficiency.
Vicoma’s Role
We evaluated FrieslandCampina’s initiative and then developed it into a concrete design. We handled all project management and deployed our specialists to produce all the necessary components. From design to completion, we oversaw the BREEAM process to ensure sustainability.
We have enjoyed working with Vicoma for many years. Thanks to their expertise and proximity, Vicoma adds significant value as an engineering partner at our RFC plant in Veghel.
Result
A fully mechanized high-bay warehouse with a fully mechanized order-picking area on the upper level. The building is refrigerated and, of course, meets all the requirements for refrigerated dairy storage.
And all within the ambitious timeline set in advance by FrieslandCampina. A tight schedule: we’re keeping our cool!
