A new boiler house at their production site in Leeuwarden. FrieslandCampina wanted to realise this project on a Design & Build basis. Not only the building itself, but also the (E-)boilers, including all associated equipment and utilities. They engaged GETEC to take the lead.
Role of Vicoma
GETEC asked us to design and engineer the building. We supported the entire construction process and dimensioned the utilities.
Result
A building that fits like a glove. In close collaboration with GETEC and FrieslandCampina, we designed a building that perfectly supports the boilers and all related facilities. The dimensions, materials, and finishes were carefully selected to create a highly functional building.
From an architectural perspective, we aimed to align the design seamlessly with the other recently realised buildings on site. As architects, we always strive for the highest achievable quality in this regard. We explore the possibilities and often advise choosing unity and consistency. Harmony with the surroundings: “Less is more!”
