A new building nestled between two existing structures with monumental status; a truly unique challenge within our projects for Stedin. It posed a fantastic aesthetic challenge for our architects, especially since we needed to gain approval from the design review committee.
Vicoma’s Role
We created an elegant design for the 50/13 kV station, achieving consensus with the municipality. Throughout several design sessions, and in close collaboration with the client and the installation consultant, we developed a well-considered concept that functionally integrates both primary and secondary installations.
We advanced the sketch design into tender documents, and our detailed execution documents provided a robust foundation for construction. We managed the engineering process and took responsibility for project management and construction supervision throughout the build.
Result
The design review committee praised our architectural design, while Stedin commended the seamless functional integration of their Program of Requirements and wishes. The new building sits harmoniously within the existing monumental environment on Oranjelaan. Our 3D scan played a vital role in ensuring this successful integration.
