Stedin commissioned us to design both the expansion and internal renovation of the Walburg substation, including the tertiary installations. The extension, adjacent to a playground and situated in a residential area surrounded by both villas and high-rise buildings, required a thoughtful and sensitive approach due to its prominent and diverse urban setting.
Vicoma’s Role
Using clear visualisations and a well-structured presentation, we successfully communicated the plans to local residents. During an information evening and a public consultation session, we helped build local support for the project.
Following this inclusive participatory process, we proceeded with the technical development of the plans for tendering and execution. Under our management, component models from third parties were integrated into the overall design. We also directed and supervised the construction phase.
Result
By involving the community throughout the design process, we achieved a harmonious architectural and urban integration. The 50/13 kV substation has now been successfully expanded and upgraded to the satisfaction of all parties, ensuring its functionality and longevity for many years to come.
