The students of study association TBV Lugus visited our office in Groningen on Tuesday the 28th of June. This allowed the students to get to know the work that our engineers do every day in an informal way. Through assignments they were able to experience what it is like in practice to work for an engineering firm like Vicoma.
The afternoon began with a joint lunch. After lunch, Regional Director Rutger Aalders gave a company presentation and told us more about who Vicoma is and what we do. Next, Henk-Jan van der Vaart, Project Manager, explained to the students the assignment that the NextGen had devised for them.
After the explanation, they went to work on the assignment in different groups. The problem they were presented with was a realistic one from the market. There was plenty of room for creativity and new ideas. These ideas were then presented to the other project groups and colleagues at Vicoma. After all that hard work, a drink was of course a must, and so the afternoon ended with the enjoyment of a snack and a drink.
The Lugus students responded enthusiastically to this afternoon and the challenging assignment they worked on. We would like to thank them enormously for their hard work, enthusiasm and new insights! You are great!
Are you a student and would you like to experience (together with your fellow students) what it is like to work at an engineering firm? Please contact our recruiters Floris Verlaan and/or Jordy Paijmans. They will discuss the possibilities with you. We also like to welcome schools and study associations at Vicoma.
